Southern Summit Prep

Planning for The Southern C

I’m super excited to be heading to The Southern C summit next week.  In case you haven’t heard of The Southern C, it’s a virtual front porch for Southern Creatives and entrepreneurs.  It’s an opportunity to meet up and collaborate with other creatives, makers and doers while learning from some of the South’s best and brightest business, branding and marketing leaders.  So you can image my enthusiasm about being with 300 other belles eager to learn and connect.

In preparation for the event, I created new contact cards to better reflect my designs and the Leslie Dasch, Dress For Cocktails brand.  I think they’re pretty sweet and hope to pass them all out!

The wonderful part about this trip is that the day before the Summit begins, Mr. Dasch-ing and I celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary.  So he’s offered to hand-deliver me to the summit, so we can enjoy a lovely dinner together on our special day.  Here we are a few weeks ago enjoying an evening cruise.

In getting ready for my journey, I’ve checked the weather and the hotel accomodations.  It seems it’s going to be a bit chilly, with even a chance of rain on the last day.  So I’m gathering all the goodies I like to take along that make any trip feel like a luxurious getaway.  I definitely fall in the Glam-ping category, as I like to have all the amenities from home. For this trip, I’m going for creature comforts.  Each morning I sip a Chai Tea Soy Latte.  Since not every hotel serves this particular combo, I’ve picked up a tea pot, frother, and my own supplies for the trip.  I’ll be able to heat, froth and enjoy my morning sip without having to leave my hotel room.

When traveling by car, I like to pack in open top carry-all bags.  Inevitably, like most girls, I bring way more than I need.  So I find it’s easy to stuff, or overstuff, a carry-all.  My favorites are Scout by Bungalow and Lilly Pulitzer.  I use the large weekender Scout bags as they’re spacious and durable, and they come in bright colors. I also have a variety of Lilly bags, for extra essentials like my make up bag, hair styling gear and jewelry case.

My trip to the Southern C Summit also happens to coincide with the final days leading up to the launch of my newest addition to the Leslie Dasch collection:  The Ladies Who Lunch Tote.  I am beyond excited to share it with you and I hope you absolutely love it.  I think you will!!

Be sure to follow my stories on Instagram ( @dressforcocktails )as I’ll be posting from the Summit.  Until next time!
